Matthew 19:14
Often, it is difficult for children to grasp the full meaning of the Liturgy of the Word when it is celebrated in an adult context. In order to provide a more 'kid friendly' atmosphere, we offer a separate Children's Liturgy of the Word for children (ages 4-8) on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Our young people are invited to attend the children’s liturgy, in a classroom next to the cafeteria, to learn about the Gospel at their level, under the supervision of screened volunteers.
During Children's Liturgy, children can hear and ponder the Word of God for their own understanding. Catechists proclaim God's Word at a level the children can understand and enjoy. They enrich this with discussion, prayers, songs and an activity related to the Gospel.
The main goal of the Children's Liturgy of the Word is to help the children grow closer to God and His people in a fun and engaging way. This is an opportunity for them to learn, grow, and share their knowledge of God's Word. They also learn of God's love for them, and how they can return that love to others.
Children return to the main assembly to join their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
No registration is required. Children are always welcome to join the group.
