The Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Knights of Columbus would like to thank everyone who attended the Blessed Frederic Ozanam Feast Day Mass last weekend, and especially for your donations of fresh produce.
It was a glorious day to celebrate our first Mass on our parish property. Many of the attendees stayed after Mass and helped to harvest vegetables from our garden.
With your donations and the vegetables harvested from the garden we collected over 400 pounds of fresh produce that was delivered to St. Clare's Residence, a St. Vincent de Paul women's shelter. This past summer the volunteers at the garden have delivered approximately 30 boxes of food directly to our neighbours in need, as well as 3 car loads of vegetables to St. Clare's residence.
The Feast Day Mass was a wonderful occasion to celebrate the success of this parish project.
